In a jaw-dropping collaboration between Joe Adsett Architects and Graya Construction, an old Queenslander has been transformed into a Mediterranean inspired luxury villa.

Arcos Villa, which is the home of Rob Gray, Managing Director of Graya Construction, and his wife Meghan, was designed with the intention of creating a luxurious property which paid homage to its Queenslander roots. The couple realised the potential of the 1000m2 plot, in the trendy suburb of Paddington, just a few kilometers from Brisbane’s CBD, and set about building their ‘forever home’, a space intended for entertainment and to later accommodate family living.

"We wanted a Mediterranean feel throughout the house, and to feel like we were at an international hotel, a home away from home,” says Rob Gray of Graya Construction. Arches, curved interior details and a soft tonal palette are the defining features of Arcos, which means “arches” in Spanish. In designing the house, Rob and Meghan have picked all the best bits from Graya’s previous projects and tied them together to create the couple’s ultimate dream home with a Spanish flavour. The result is a palatial five-bedroomed, six-bathroom house which spans over three levels and contains three living rooms, a backyard patio with an outdoor lounge area, a spa and space for eight cars.
