Glasroc® X Sheathing Board is a high-performance Class 4 vapour permeable rigid air barrier board, designed for use behind facade cladding systems. It provides up to 6 months of weather protection for a building’s interior prior to cladding.

Product Overview

Glasroc X is a 12.5mm thick exterior plasterboard, reinforced with glass mat and UV resistant coating that delivers strength, durability and weather resistance, making it ideal for commercial and multi-res construction.

The Glasroc X system has been tested and assessed to relevant structural, weathertightness, fire, vapour permeability, mould resistance, thermal and acoustic standards, making it the ideal choice for exterior wall applications.

Glasroc X is recommended for use in Climate Zones 2-8. Its Class 4 vapour permeability provides outstanding performance in colder environments (Climate Zones 6, 7 & 8) where the condensation risk is increased.

Engineered to endure high wind environments, Glasroc X withstands wind pressures up ± 6kPa (ULS). The Glasroc X system provides a fire rating of up to FRL 60/60/60 on timber and steel frames⁺ and up to -/90/90 on steel frames⁺.

Glasroc X accelerates construction by enclosing the building and creating a weathertight⁺⁺ environment to allow internal trades to begin sooner. It is easy to handle and install. Boards are simple to score, snap and screw-fix to timber or steel frames. Installation is completed using jointing options like tape or sealant.

The Glasroc X sealing tape is specifically designed to effectively seal Glasroc X board joints, penetrations, and openings, ensuring weathertight joints. Glasroc X screws, suitable for both steel and timber frames, feature a Class 4 corrosion-resistant coating, offering durable and reliable performance in harsh weather conditions.
