Robust and fire resistant Glasroc F has been developed to provide efficient and effective protection to structural columns and beams.

Product Overview

Gyprock Glasroc F is a 30mm thick, paperless, high density, square edged gypsum board designed as a frameless encasement for structural steel beams and columns to provide a fire rating of up to FRL 120/–/–.

The board has been engineered with glass tissue immediately below the surface of the board and glass fibre rovings throughout the core providing excellent impact resistance. Glasroc has a smooth surface, and great moisture tolerance in partially exposed situations.

Installation is quick and simple with Glasroc F boards screw-fixed to one another without the need for additional framing, adhesive or fillers. Jointing and the application of decorative treatments are not required for a smooth and robust surface, but may be considered for aesthetics.

Typical Applications

Glasroc F is predominantly specified for encasing column and beams in commercial buildings including; offices, hotels, hospitals and other public buildings.

The frameless encasement system is suitable for protecting structural steel members with a section factor Hp/A up to 260m-1, calculated on the box protection of all exposed sides. It will protect universal column and beam sections, other re-entrant sections such as channels and angles, and hollow sections.

Available Edge Profiles

Gyprock Glasroc F is available with a square edge (SE) edge profile.
SE has no recesses on any edge. This allows sheets to be butted together neatly to form a square finish.

Tested Fire Performance

Gyprock fire rated plasterboard products are manufactured with special additives to enhance their fire resistance properties. The additives slow the progress of heat and flame, and when used as part of a CSR fire rated system, provide performance options suitable for many construction types.

CSR provides a range of wall and ceiling systems, junction and penetration details, which meet and exceed the requirements of the Building Code of Australia. These solutions often include a combination of plasterboard, insulation, sealants and accessories to reach various performance criteria.
