Gyprock EC08 Impact MR combines excellent impact resistance with enhanced moisture resistance. It is manufactured with high levels of recycled content making it ideal for use in challenging wet area applications in commercial green building projects.

Product Overview

EC08 Impact MR is manufactured with a dense, fibre-reinforced core for superior impact resistance and moisture resistant additives make it suitable for use in wet areas. All boards in the EC08 range contain high levels of recycled content and are manufactured to AS/NZS 2588 – Gypsum Plasterboard. Their low VOC emissions make them an ideal choice for applications where maintaining high levels of indoor air quality is important.

Typical Applications:

EC08 Impact MR is typically used as a wall lining in commercial green building projects where a higher level of impact and moisture resistance is required and high levels of recycled content are desired. This includes areas such as changing rooms, bathroom and toilet facilities.

Tested Impact Performance

Gyprock impact resistant plasterboard products are manufactured with a heavier lining paper, and special additives to enhance the durability of their core. Typically, these products can withstand twice the discernible force of regular plasterboard products, making them ideal for high traffic areas.

Hard body impact

Hard body impact is assessed by dropping a 50mm steel ball onto the plasterboard surface from increasing heights.

Soft body impact

Soft body impact testing sees a weighted bag swung on a pendulum, striking the plasterboard surface.
