Product Overview

The integrity of fire and acoustic rated walls can be compromised by penetrations for plumbing, electrical and other services. The patented Gyprock Silencer F provides an easy to install solution that can meet Fire Resistance Levels up to –/120/120, whilst maintaining acoustic performance despite penetrations into the wall system.

Silencer F is a metal top hat profile, installed horizontally between studs or vertically between tracks. The natural shape of Silencer F provides an additional layer of protection, enclosing services and ensuring there is no gap next to the plasterboard which could result in direct exposure to a fire source. Silencer F also maintains acoustic separation when installed in accordance with installation guidance, to meet acoustic requirements.

Typical Applications

Gyprock Silencer F has been developed for both single and double stud steel framed wall systems to accommodate taps, pipes, power outlets, light switches and other similar penetrations. It is most commonly used for party walls, strata walls and security walls in multi-residential construction projects where fire ratings and acoustic performance is mandated. Silencer F is also suitable for use in any steel frame building type to maintain FRL and acoustic performance around penetrations.
