The ultimate lining for homes, Superchek is the highest specification plasterboard in the Gyprock residential range. Its high density and board strength delivers exceptional impact resistance and noise control.

Product Overview

Gyprock Superchek features a specially formulated dense core and tougher face paper to substantially increase its resistance to soft and hard body impact.

While Gyprock Plus provides everyday durability, Superchek has enhanced resistance to dents, scuffs and scrapes from things such as furniture and school bags.

Superchek also provides improved airborne noise and impact noise insulation for a quieter, more comfortable home. Walls lined with Superchek provide a 15% reduction in perceived loudness compared to standard plasterboard.

Typical Applications

Gyprock Superchek is ideal for use in residential walls and ceilings particularly in those areas subject to high traffic and high spirits such as; corridors, hallways, rumpus and games rooms, mud rooms and childen’s bedrooms. When installed in ceilings of multi-storey homes, Superchek can also reduce noise levels between floors.

Gyprock Superchek is not suitable where it would be in contact with water or a constant relative humidity above 90%.

Tested Impact Performance

Gyprock impact resistant plasterboard products are manufactured with a heavier lining paper, and special additives to enhance the durability of their core. Typically, these products can withstand twice the discernible force of regular plasterboard products, making them ideal for high traffic areas.

Hard body impact

Hard body impact is assessed by dropping a 50mm steel ball onto the plasterboard surface from increasing heights.

Soft body impact

Soft body impact testing sees a weighted bag swung on a pendulum, striking the plasterboard surface.

Impact Resistance

Superior Acoustic Performance

Gyprock acoustic plasterboard products fall into two categories – those for preventing sound transmission, and those designed to provide sound absorption. Sound transmission products are manufactured with a denser core, providing a physical barrier to prevent sound moving to adjoining spaces. Absorptive plasterboard products feature perforations to help reduce echo and improve acoustics within a room.

While the selection of an acoustic plasterboard lining alone will improve performance, CSR provides a range of wall and ceiling systems which deliver superior results for transmission or absorption, through a combination of plasterboard, insulation, fixing methods, plenums and framing configuration.
