Gyprock Aquachek is a moisture resistant wall and ceiling plasterboard designed as the perfect lining for wet areas. It is available in 10mm and 13mm thicknesses for residential and commercial applications.

Product Overview

The core, face and back of Gyprock Aquachek are treated to make it resistant to moisture and humidity without compromising integrity. It is specifically designed for use as a wall and ceiling lining in wet areas of residential or commercial buildings. It can be easily identified by its blue coloured face paper.

Gyprock Aquachek is manufactured to meet or exceed the requirements of water resistant grade gypsum plasterboard as per AS/NZ 2588 Gypsum Plasterboard, and satisfies the requirements of the Building Code of Australia for wet area wall linings in residential and commercial buildings when installed according to Gyprock installation guides. Refer to Australian Standard AS3740 - Waterproofing of Wet Areas in Residential Buildings for additional requirements. Installation information for wet area solutions can be found in Red Book 2: Residential Installation Guide and Red Book 3: Commercial Installation Guide.

Typical Applications

In residential projects Gyprock Aquachek is ideal for use in bathrooms, laundries, ensuites, toilets and protected external ceilings like soffits and verandahs.

In commercial projects Gyprock Aquachek is typically used in showers/change rooms, restrooms, laundries and kitchens, hospital ward bathrooms and soffits.

Because Aquachek is not subject to moisture movement and has extremely low water absorption characteristics, it provides an excellent, stable substrate for ceramic tiles.

Water resistance

Water resistance is tested by submerging a sample of plasterboard in a body of water for two hours.

Surface water resistance
