High Impact Area Solutions

High-spirited children or just the everyday wear and tear of family life can often result in damage to ordinary wall cladding. Impactchek plasterboard is specially made to resist this type of impact damage.

Tough walls to cope with life's knocks

Gyprock Impactchek™ plasterboard is so tough it exceeds the requirements of the Building Code of Australia (BCA) for soft body impact resistance in public assembly buildings.

With its fibreglass mesh reinforcement, Gyprock Impactchek™ plasterboard is more than four times stronger than ordinary wall covering or plaster board.

Impactchek provides a high degree of impact resistance, meaning that the walls will stand a much better chance of resisting knocks and bumps. Your walls will look stay looking good for longer. So for areas where toughness and a good looking wall finish are required, Impactchek is the answer.

How it Works

Impactchek plasterboard’s high-density construction with its woven fibreglass mesh reinforcement allows it to withstand common knocks and bumps.

Passing the Impact test

A 27.2 kg bag is dropped three times against an ordinary plasterboard wall causing significant damage (left hand image). When the test is repeated with Gyprock Impactchek™ plasterboard (right hand image), its unique construction resists the impact of the bag and no damage is done.

Ordinary wall covering is badly damaged by impact.

Impactchek's fibreglass reinforced construction withstands impact.

Construction

Impactchek is fixed to the frame with adhesive and screws or nails. The joints are taped and set and the surface is painted as for standard plasterboard. The bonded fibreglass core and reinforced mesh give Gyprock Impactchek™ the strength to exceed the requirements of the Building Code of Australia for stairs and passageways in commercial buildings.
