The Gyprock EC08™ Range
The expansion of the EC08™ range of plasterboards is a response to the market which is looking for a wider range of products for green building projects. The new products that have been added to the range provide more economical solutions as well as options for impact areas surpassing the performance of current plasterboard options. All products in the range are manufactured to AS2588 - Gypsum Plasterboard.
All products in the range have been certified by Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) as meeting the requirements of their environmental standard for Panel Boards. This process has also led to the development of Gyprock's ReCore™ technology pushing the level of recycled content to over 10% for EC08™ Impact.
There are now three GECA certified boards in the EC08 range:
Gyprock EC08™ Partition
Applications: Office partitions and standard internal walls.
Gyprock EC08™ Partition has been developed for office fit outs or where standard plasterboard applications are specified and can be used in wall and ceiling systems. It is an economical option that can contribute to Green Star ratings. Gyprock EC08™ Partition has been certified by GECA.
Gyprock EC08™ Fire
Applications: Party walls, meeting rooms and fire walls.
Gyprock EC08™ Fire is the original product in the EC08™ range and was the first plasterboard in Australia to achieve certification from GECA for their Panel Boards environmental standard. Gyprock EC08™ is a fire grade plasterboard with increased acoustic performance and can be used in wall and ceiling systems. The fire performance is equal to the performance of the equivalent size of Gyprock Fyrchek and the acoustic performance is very similar to Gyprock Soundchek.
Gyprock EC08™ Impact
Applications: Party walls, meeting rooms and fire walls.
Gyprock EC08™ Impact is a premium plasterboard that exhibits excellent Impact resistance, is fire rated and has excellent acoustic performance. The board is specifically designed for both hard and soft body impact applications making it ideal for schools and hospitals where corridors and classrooms are exposed to bumps and abrasion.
Specifically, Gyprock EC08™ has the potential to help achieve Green Star points in the rating tools in the following areas:
