New contemporary look widely used by designers and homeowners
10 September, 2010
Homeowners and designers across Australia are now using a new interior architectural profile, Gyprock ShadowSet™ to create clean, uncluttered lines and achieve a contemporary look.
A new Masterton home, recently built in the beach side suburb of Newport, Sydney used Gyprock Shadowset™ cornice throughout the interior with spectacular results. The homeowners decided on Shadowset as they wanted a contemporary look, saw how affordable it could be and installed it in every room of their home.
Gyprock ShadowSet™ was created in response to growing consumer demand for shadow line looks and is an ideal solution for creating or updating a home. When Gyprock ShadowSet™ profile is applied directly to the ceiling; it creates a strong shadow line due to the recess between the profile and ceiling. It’s fast and easy to install and is the perfect alternative to ‘square set’ or metal recess profiles which can be costly and difficult to use.
“Designers and homebuyers have been telling us they wanted more contemporary design options. Working with key designers and builders, CSR have developed a new profile that provides a great contemporary look, easily and cost effectively” said Tom Newton, Gyprock™ Marketing Manager.
Gyprock ShadowSet™ is a minimalist alternative to “square set” (or no cornice) and to the more stylistic cornices. The ShadowSet profile is applied directly to the ceiling and actually creates a shadow on the ceiling and a floating ceiling effect, due to the recess on the profile where it meets the wall. Square set can be costly to install, can crack, and can be perceived to be mis-aligned due to uneven timber framing.
“Gyprock ShadowSet™ was developed to meet the growing demand for easy-to-install, shadow line looks and has proved to be very successful in the new home and renovation market. Many builders are using it in their own homes”
