Gyprock is committed to sustainable manufacturing processes for their products and systems and operate to measurable targets for waste reduction, water usage and energy consumption for each of their operations.
Gyprock provides building systems for hospitals that have the potential to reduce heating and cooling costs, essentially saving tones of greenhouse gases each year.
Our plasterboard plants recycle more than 95% of the manufacturing waste either back into the production process or through conversion to by-products such as soil conditioners for the agricultural industry. Also, Gyprock operates a plasterboard recycling service in a number of metropolitan areas.
Good Environmental Choice Australia
The majority of Gyprock’s plasterboards and compound products are accredited to the latest Good Environmental Choice Australia 04 – 2011 Panel Boards Standard (GECA) which is compliant with the requirements of the Green Building Council of Australia’s Assessment Framework for product certification schemes.
Green Star Ratings
Gyprock’s GECA accredited plasterboard and compound products can contribute to Green Star Points in the Green Star Design & As Built rating tool. Gyprock also manufactures three EC08 plasterboards with much higher levels of recycled content that may further assist in the achievement of Green Star Points.
