Gyprock Sensitive is part of Gyprock's Residential Specialty Options range of plasterboards. This gypsum plasterboard's core is treated with a powerful but gentle antifungal agent, which penetrates through the paper liner and paint coating. The core contains a wax emulsion to make it highly resistant to moisture and humidity without compromising integrity and the product is classified as low in volatile organic compounds (VOC), meaning it emits fewer chemicals than the acceptable Australian standard.
The attributes of Gyprock Sensitive make it an ideal selection for use throughout the homes of asthma and allergy sufferers.
The board can also be used as a lining in wet areas of residential or commercial buildings.
Because Gyprock Sensitive is not subject to moisture movement and has extremely low water absorption characteristics, it provides an excellent, stable substrate for ceramic tiles
Gyprock manufactures other plasterboards with moisture resistant properties that may satisfy a different range of performance requirements:
Gyprock Sensitive is manufactured in Australia to Australian Standard AS2588 and the heavy-duty face paper is a green colour.
CSR Gyprock is proud to be a partner of the National Asthma Council Australia's Sensitive Choice program. Research indicates that 2.3 million Australians suffer from asthma and over 30% of the population has allergies.
The Sensitive Choice program identifies products that are a better choice for asthma, eczema and allergy sufferers. Gyprock Sensitive is a low VOC plasterboard with superior mould resistance that is approved by the Sensitive Choice program as a better choice for asthma and allergy sufferers.
Gyprock Sensitive is available in a 10mm thickness and in 1200mm and 1350mm widths. The long edges are recessed for flush jointing.
For walls, in a horizontal set-out, the 1200mm sheet width suits standard 2400mm ceiling heights and 1350mm suits 2700mm ceiling heights. Both widths are suitable for ceiling installation depending on the size of the area to be covered.
Gyprock Sensitive is predominantly used for residential walls and ceilings where door frames and window reveals are designed for a 10mm internal lining. Gyprock Sensitive also satisfies the requirements of the Building Code of Australia for wet area wall linings. Refer to the Australian Standard AS3740 – Waterproofing of Wet Areas in Residential Buildings for additional requirements.
