Gyprock Plus Plasterboard

Gyprock Plussuptrade

Gyprock Plus 10mm is part of the Residential Select Range of premium quality plasterboards. It is used for general internal wall linings and can also be used on ceilings with standard 450mm joist centres. Information on Gyprock Standard Plasterboard 13mm for Commercial projects can be found here.

Gyprock Plus is not suitable where it would be in contact with water or a constant relative humidity above 90%. For wet areas, the following 10mm products are suitable:

Gyprock Plus is made in Australia and accredited to Australian Standard AS2588 through SAI Global. It is made up of a gypsum plaster core that is wrapped in heavy-duty linerboard paper with bonded edges.

This plasterboard is manufactured with Optimised Core technology and a stronger, thicker, buff coloured face paper.

Optimised Core plasterboard has an advanced performance-to-weight ratio, meaning greater breaking strength in a substantially lighter board that continues to exceed the performance requirements of Australian Standard AS2588.

Product Options

Gyprock Plus is available in a thickness of 10mm and in widths of 1200mm and 1350mm. In a horizontal setout, the 1200mm sheet width suits standard 2400mm ceiling heights and 1350mm suits 2700mm ceilings.

Gyprock Plus is available in different edge profiles for a variety of installation options.

Gyprock Plus – Recessed edge (RE) profile

RE is the standard profile for most plasterboard where both long edges of the board feature a recess that tapers approximately 60mm in from the edge. When butted together, these long recesses assist in producing a smooth, even and continuous surface when a jointing system of tape and compound is correctly applied.

Typical applications:

  • Residential walls and ceilings

Gyprock Plus – Recessed edge/square edge (RE/SE) profile

RE/SE has one square edge and one recessed edge and is manufactured as a wider sheet (1210mm). This combination allows the square edges to be placed at the floor and ceiling with standard horizontal jointing where the boards meet.

Typical applications:
  • Ideal for use with narrow cornice (eg. 55mm), square set ceilings or where small skirting board and architrave profiles are desired
